Wanda Lucille Arndt, age 78 of Cleveland was welcomed home by God on Sunday, April 21, 2024. She lost her battle with cancer at her home on Lake Jefferson surrounded by family. She always had a positive attitude and felt confident she would win the cancer battle. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26 from 4-7pm at the Le Center Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 11am with visitation one hour prior at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at German Lake in rural Waterville. Interment will be held at a later date.

Wanda was born on July 20, 1945 to Fermon and Erma (Kirkman) Hurley in Windom, MN. She attended high school in Heron Lake, MN., Jackson Vo-Tech and Mankato State University. On November 9, 1962 Wanda married her high school sweetheart, Richard Arndt at the United Methodist Church in Heron Lake. The couple lived in Windom until the spring of 1968 when they moved to Le Center. In 1995 Wanda started Arndt Bookkeeping Connection, in 2001 Wanda and Heather started ABC Services, and in 2015 Wanda sold her shares to Brad and retired.

Wanda was very involved in caring for her mother whom she moved to Le Center and took on many trips from Alaska to Florida. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. Wanda was active in the community. She was a member of the VFW and American Legion Auxiliary’s and Lions Club. She volunteered at the kitchen in St. Peter, and as a facilitator for the HOPE Widows Grief Group. She was thoughtful, and kind to everyone.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Troy (Jennifer) Arndt of Mankato, and Brad (Heather) Arndt of Cleveland (Lake Jefferson); grandchildren, Chase Arndt (Grant Forman) of Cleveland, and Hayden Arndt of Cleveland; brother, Ronald Hurley of Haysville, KA; sisters, Peggy Baggett of Missouri, and Patty (Richard) Altman of Brewster, MN.; brother-in-law, Arlen (Georgia) Arndt of Brewster, MN; sister-in-law, Sandra (Duane) Fernholz of Phoenix, AZ., and Cheryl (Gary) Hochstein of Windom, MN; aunt, Darlene Scott;
many nieces and nephews.

Wanda is preceded in death by her beloved husband in 1984; her parents; 2 brothers, Fermon Jr., and Michael.
