Schanilec’s prints and wood engravings have been on display in galleries and museums across the nation. He has received such prestigious awards as the Flanegan Award (1999), Carl Hertzog Award (2006) and the Gregynog Prize (2007). His work is in private and public collections across the globe including the Walker Arts Center, Getty Musuem, Minneapolis Museum of Art and British National Art Library to name a few. Schanilec’s work exhumes his passion for his natural surroundings and his recent engravings shed light on his poetry roots. He now resides in Stockholm, WI where he owns and operates Midnight Paper Sales.
