Arnold Kuchinka obituaryArnold T. Kuchinka, 90, of Montgomery died Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Queen of Peace Hospital. Visitation will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Shieldsville on Monday, November 9 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Funeral Services will be on Monday at the church at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Church Cemetery in Shieldsville. Arrangements are with Schoenbauer Funeral Home of Montgomery.
Arnold was born at his home in Le Sueur County on September 30, 1919. His parents were Thomas and Marie (Flicek) Kuchinka. Arnold attended country school then farmed with his father near Lonsdale where he continued farming after his father retired. He married Elsie Pesta on June 30, 1943 in Faribault. He also worked for Green Giant, the Webster Creamery, and at the local school. Arnold retired from farming in 1976 and moved to rural Montgomery. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, fishing, old time music, and played the concertina.
Arnold is survived by two sons, Harold & Lucy Kuchinka of Lonsdale and Larry & Doreen Kuchinka of Montgomery; daughter, Colleen & Glenn Franek of Northfield; 11 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; sister, Tilly Fierst of Northfield; and sister-in-law, Angela & John Tuma of Montgomery.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Jim & Ambrose Kuchinka and sister, Violet Trcka.
