Chester Floyd McDonald Obituary
Chester Floyd McDonald, age 97 of Montgomery passed away at Three Links Care Center in Northfield, Tuesday, October 31st 2023. Visitation Friday, November 3, 9am-11am with Military Honors provided by the Montgomery area Veterans Honor Guard at 11am all at Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Interment will be held at Bohemian National Cemetery in Montgomery.

Chester was born on July 17, 1926 at home in Sharon Township, Le Sueur County to Arthur and Irene (McLean) McDonald. Chester served in the United States Army during World War II. He worked until he was 75 as a farmer and various jobs- cleaning, worked at a library, drove truck for milk and livestock. He was a lifetime member of VFW Monson Ario Club in Mankato, Redmen Club in St. Peter, and Montgomery American Legion.

Chester is survived by children, Emily Tuma of Montgomery, Nick and Bobbie Jo McDonald of Montgomery, and Glen and Cheryl McDonald of Montgomery; grandchildren, Jamie Tuma of Montgomery, Cody McDonald of Montgomery, Trevor McDonald of Montgomery, Samantha, and Tabitha; siblings, Dale McDonald of Sauk Centre, Kenneth McDonald of Hastings, Marion Knott of Hastings, and Joyce Brockman of Hastings; many nieces and nephews.

Chester is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Russell, Raymond, Maynard, Donald and Warren McDonald; sisters, Della Greiger, and Shirley Nogle; former wife, Olga Harriet Holetz McDonald.
