VISIBLE MENDING WITH WHITNEY DIRKS (2 class meetings). Tuesdays Feb. 18 & 25, 5:00-7:00 p.m., $60. Advance registration required. Class meets upstairs in the Arts Center’s sewing studio. Minimum enrollment: 3. Maximum: 6. Fast fashion is bad for the planet, so join textile artist Whitney Dirks for an environmentally friendly visible mending class! Bring a piece of clothing with a small hole or stain, and go home with the stylishly mended garment, plus the basic skills to tackle future projects. The class will focus on hand stitching, including colorful patchwork, raised rosettes/barnacles, and woven patches. No prior experience necessary! Bring your piece of clothing to the first class meeting. All other tools and materials will be provided by the Arts Center.
